Spokeo - Unauthorised subscription

I have never subscribed to Spokeo; On October 31, I paid $0.95 to Spokeo to look up one email I thought was a scam. On November 7, PayPal notified me that my cc was charged $29.95 for an automatic Spokeo monthly subscription.

I immediately cancelled the subscription on both the PayPal and Spokeo sites. I feel I was misled by what I consider predatory practices by Spokeo. I was not notified that I was being signed up for a subscription. I am deeply frustrated with this experience as it is not fair, correct, or acceptable.

I need my money to be refunded promptly. I also want to make it clear that I will cancel any unauthorised subscription that I never signed up for. I was not aware in any way that paying for an email search would automatically subscribe without my permission.

That's a scam, and the company should advise any customer of such a situation. I am waiting for a response to solve this.

I have never subscribed to Spokeo; On October 31, I paid $0.95 to

Cancel account months ago new account started in my name and money taken from my bank account

I canceled my account. I spoke you about three months ago about three weeks ago $45 was taken from my bank account and I do not know why I cannot find an account with my email.

I do not want the account as we had my identity has been stolen I know who has been. Its one of someone and it was a good friend they know all of my information it keeps happening I have made police reports and nothing has happened. They just do not care. I also had two iPhones, stolen in my car stolen, and the police did nothing at all.

I want my money back from this company and a little bit of a break if any one and I would like to pursue charges on whoever started the account Im not sure how to approach this if anyone can help please do so. My name is Lauralee Street and that is the name on the card that was used Virginia well, it was either Lauralee Street or Joseph Antilla but I believe the car that was used was LauraLee Street and the last four digits of that card are 1933. It is a MasterCard evening. I have had to cancel it and Im waiting on a new one, but this just keeps happening.

This *** that stole my identity has stolen my life she has gotten accounts in my name my boyfriends mom fathers by 17 year old daughters, she install the server on my router and the cable technician found 17 energy to five devices. She has 50 phone number for me. I have to dispute my credit report from all three bureaus due to her.

I can afford to do all this and pay $45 to Spokeo its probably her using it to get more information to meet you still more things for me . I can be contacted at 42320****.

Still no refund. This is a scam to get you to pay $.99 for a one time information on a person, then a week later you will get charged $25without your knowledge. Bad News Outfit!!!

I used their advertisement for $.99 cents (which I paid) to lookup up info on 1 person. A week later I received a bill for $25.90 for a subscription which I never asked for or authorized.

Spokeo also made the payment a recurring charge. I contacted Spokeo via email asking for a refund. No reply. Since I used PayPal as my payment source, I decided to file a complaint with PayPal.

PayPal said it was my fault because I never read Spokeo's conditions for using the $.99 advertisement.

Be careful if you use Spokeo as they will subscribe you to a recurring monthly payment without any notification. Regarding PayPal, I have always had a positive result with them but??????????

Spokeo does not originate or create data, so our data reflects that of the original sources. Spokeo does not guarantee data accuracy, and the data should only be used as a reference.

We are, however, constantly working to expand and improve the data available on our site. New information is added to our system every day and I suggest you check back for new updates. Please note, that since all Spokeo subscriptions automatically renew to prevent service interruption, trials that were left unchanged, were charged on the service's renewal date until disabled. Furthermore, while most Spokeo subcriptions include name, email, phone, and address searches, Court Record searches and Historical searches are available as an additional purchase as an add-on to your base subscription.
